Pioneering Sri Lanka's Hospitality Future

The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) is the apex representative body and collective voice of Sri Lanka’s hotel and hospitality sector. Established over six decades ago, THASL represents around 260+ hotels and resorts across the island, ranging from international brands, local chains, and luxury five-star city hotels in Colombo to boutique resorts and independent properties across all star ratings.

THASL works closely with government bodies, tourism authorities, and industry partners to advocate for hotel sector interests, foster sustainable tourism, boost investment, and raise standards across Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry.

Sri Lanka Tourist Board approved Hotels only

1. Overlooking the interests of the members in all areas connected to the tourism industry and intervening on their behalf on industry issues.

2. Liaising with the tourism and other related ministries and government authorities on matters of interest and policy.

3. The Association also has designated committees for Marketing, Sustainability & Human Resources to organise activities such as trainings & fundraising events to fulfil the interests of the general membership.

4. Circulation of tourism industry-related material received from Sri Lanka Tourism and other authorities, such as trade fairs, training programmes, meetings with foreign delegations, etc.

5. Offering of discounted special fares from airlines for the participation of trade fairs and other promotional visits.

6. Sharing of knowledge and information with other affiliated organisations in Sri Lanka or overseas having objectives similar to those of the association

7. Organising meetings, forums, networking events, workshops, fundraising activities and other programmes that provide members with opportunities to engage, collaborate and build relationships within the industry.

8. Facilitating engagement with subject-matter experts, government officials, policymakers, industry leaders and other relevant stakeholders on matters of importance to members.

9. Developing programmes, services and initiatives based on the evolving needs, priorities and concerns of the membership, ensuring that THASL remains responsive and relevant to its members.

10. Supporting initiatives that enhance the visibility and competitiveness of Sri Lanka as a tourism destination and creating opportunities for members to participate in collective destination marketing and promotional activities.
